How to Replace the Belt on the Dirt Devil Pet Purpose Vacuum Cleaner

Turn the power switch off. Make sure the Dirt Devil is unplugged.

Lay the Dirt Devil on a flat surface and turn it over to expose the brush roll. Remove the three screws from the cover, and then set the cover aside.

Slide the belt away from the brush roll and lift the brush roll out. Remove the other side of the belt from the shaft.

Wrap the new belt around the notch on the brush roll. Carefully lay the brush roll back into its mounting position and slide the other side of the belt around the motor shaft.

Manually turn the brush roll a few times to make sure the belt is correctly installed.

Snap the cover back on and replace the three screws.

Tips & Warnings
Only use replacement belt number 22. It's recommended that you purchase a Dirt Devil factory belt to ensure compatibility.
