A pool needs to be kept clean, and vacuuming is just one way to remove debris from the sides and bottom of the pool. Before you can vacuum the pool, you need to know how to attach a pool vacuum to a pool so that you are able to clean the debris out of the water. This should be done once a week or more, depending on the condition of the water.
Things You'll Need
- Vacuum head
- Vacuum hose
- Vacuum plate
- Long pool pole
Turn on the pump to filter. This should be done before assembling the vacuum unit.
Attach the vacuum head to the long pool pole.
Connect the vacuum hose to the vacuum head plate. Twist in the connector to secure.
Throw the vacuum hose and vacuum head into the water. Take the end of the vacuum hose not connected to the vacuum and place on one of the jets in the pool or stick in the water and fill the hose with water to remove all air.
Attach the skimmer plate to the end of the hose. Remove the cover from the skimmer basket and place the skimmer plate on the hose on top of the skimmer basket. The suction will begin and hold the plate over the basket.
Start vacuuming the pool floor by moving the vacuum head slowly across the pool bottom.
