How to Convert a Song to Karaoke
Karaoke is a fun way to get a party going and can be a great way to express yourself musically. The art of Karaoke is simple: A musical track of your choosing plays across a screen and is followed by the lyrics to the music. In the world of Karaoke, you are always the lead singer.

Download "Power Karaoke" from the Power Karaoke website (see Resource for a link).

Install "Power Karaoke" and run it.

Click the "Load Soundtrack" button, which is located under the "Synchronize" subhead and looks like a folder with a musical note on it.

Locate the song you wish to use for your Karaoke creation and open it.

Click the "Pay" button, which is located right next to the "Load Soundtrack" button to ensure that your track is playing correctly.

Add lyrics by clicking the black box near the bottom of the screen and type them out. Type the entire lyrics to the song before continuing.

Locate the "Synchronize" button, which can be found to the right of the icon that looks like a blue-circled letter "i." The synchronize icon will appear as a list of words with a little stop watch in the top left-hand corner; once you have located it, click it.

As the song begins playing, you will notice that certain words in your lyrics box will become highlighted. Your job is to hit space bar each time the lyric is to be spoken in relation to the song. Try matching the words with the beats of the song the best you can.

Save your file as a CD-G by clicking the icon that looks like a red arrow pointing to a compact disc with the word "CD-G" above it.

Save your Karaoke file in case you wish to work on it or alter it later. After your file is done, burn it onto a CD.

Tips & Warnings
This software offers the ability to remove vocals from some MP3 files, but it may not work with all songs.
