How to Degrease Kitchen Hardware
With all the cooking, baking, broiling and frying that go on in a kitchen, things tend to get a little messy. Even the cleanest of cooks will find that their kitchen hardware is covered in a sheen of grease. And for those messy cooks who don't like to clean, grease can accumulate and cause a very esthetically unpleasing kitchen environment. Removing grease from kitchen hardware is a simple task if you clean the hardware on a regular basis. When the grease is left to sit, it can still be removed, but will require much more elbow grease. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Wad a paper towel into a ball and hold it in your hand. You will use this to remove any large chunks of grease that may have accumulated.
-
2
Drag the paper towel in a downward motion, applying medium pressure. Start at the top of the piece of hardware and pull down toward the bottom in one fluid movement. Do not rub in a circular motion as this can smear the grease and make a bigger mess.

3
Repeat the process with the paper towel until all the large chunks of grease are gone. You should still see a film of grease covering the hardware.
-
4
Pour full-strength vinegar directly into your squirt bottle.
-
5
Squirt the kitchen hardware with the vinegar liberally. Allow the vinegar to sit for a minute to break down the grease.
-
6
Wipe the vinegar away with your wash cloth. The grease will come off as you wipe away the vinegar. Vinegar does not need to be washed away.
