Shave your Vagina

Beginner tips on how to shave your vagina without waxing!

Things You'll Need:

  • Mirror
  • Scissors
  • Choice of razor, trimmer, clippers, or specialty item.
  1. Step 1

The idea of shaving your vagina for the first time may seem like a scary nightmare at first, but if you gather a little information about the process first, your fears will disappear! The first step is to decide which method you will be using. You can use a disposable razor, an electric shaver, a beard trimmer, clippers, or go for the more pricey specialty trimmers for your vagina. It’s a good idea to gather up the supplies you will need ahead of time and bring them all into the bathroom with you.

  2. Step 2

•Make sure you have a small pair of scissors and a small mirror. Before shaving, you will want to cut off most of your pubic hair with the scissors. You don’t have to cut too close to your skin, but try to remove most of the hair. If you are cutting off your hair in the shower, do not rinse the hair down the drain! Flush it down the toilet or throw it in the trash…otherwise you risk clogging the bathtub drain, which could be very embarrassing!

  3. Step 3

•If you are not familiar with your pubic hair pattern, use the mirror to look at your vagina so that you can see all of the areas that need to be shaved. If you want to be completely hairless, this is an important step, because some pubic hair grows in the more hidden areas of the vagina. This may seem awkward at first, but it only needs to be done once!

  4. Step 4

•If you are using a disposable razor, you will need shaving cream or some other product to prevent razor burn. Shaving the vagina is a little tricky. You should always shave in the same direction as the hair is growing (most of the time DOWN), but because this area has so many curvy and sensative areas, you will probably have to shave in all directions in some spots to remove all of the hair. Pulling the skin tight really helps to prevent razor burn and get better results. Using trimmers and other types of electric shavers is usually easier and requires less work. Beard and moustache work great because they are usually about an inch wide.

  5. Step 5

You do not need to remove all of the hair! Sometimes trimming the hair into a strip or a patch actually looks and feels better than a completely bald vagina. Some people are more prone to razor burn, which can be very uncomfortable and can last for a couple of days. If you do get razor burn in this area, a quick cure is to use a SMALL amount of rubbing alcohol on the area, which burns for a few seconds but gets rid of the razor burn.
