Lose the inches, and keep it off

There are thousands of articles, programs, and workout routines that claim that they will help you lose weight. Of course, if you are exercising and dieting you are going to lose weight. However, very few of these programs bother to tell you how to keep the weight off after you complete the program and reach your goal. So how do you keep the weight off? Here is your answer.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Dedication
  • Self control
  • the want to succeed
  1. Step 1

We all know the basics of weight loss. Burn more calories than you consume. Seems easy enough. Then why does everyone have to continue dieting and exercising if it is so easy? It is because the programs do not teach you how to keep it off.

The first step of keeping the weight off is deciding that you are going to keep it off. It is making a promise to yourself that you are going to make and change and become a more healthy person.

  2. Step 2

Making a change. You can diet and exercise all you want and it will do no good unless you make a lifestyle change. Losing the weight is about diet and exercise, but keeping it off is about making a change. You must learn to be a more healthy person all of the time, not just while trying to lose the weight. You must maintain the diet continuously.

With that said, choose a diet plan that you can live with, literally. Learn to make the healthy choice all of the time. Eat less red meat, drink less soda, eat less junk food, and steer clear of fast food restaurants. Make sure you drink plenty of water, eat more veggies, and lean towards healthier options offered to you.

  3. Step 3

In addition to making a lifestyle change involving your diet, make some form of exercise a constant part of your life as well. It doesn't need to be strenuous, but part of your daily routine. Walking, jogging, going to the gym, or Wii fit would even be a great option.

  4. Step 4

To keep off the weight, you must continue the factors that caused you to lose the weight initially. Make this part of your lifestyle, rather than a temporary change. Going back to your old diet and lack of exercise will cause you to look the way you did before too.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't start an exercise program without consulting a doctor to ensure that you are healthy enough to do so
