Things You'll Need:
- Long Sleeves
- Long Pants
- Shoes & Socks
-
Step 1
Avoid Mosquitoes:
-
Step 2
Don’t go outside during dusk and dawn. More mosquitoes are flying and biting during these times.
-
Step 3
Get rid of standing water in your yard. Mosquitoes breed and lay their eggs in it.
-
Step 4
Wear heavy long sleeves, long pants, and socks outdoors, since mosquitoes can bite right through thin fabric.
-
Step 5
Avoid Insects that Sting:
-
Step 6
Don’t look or smell like a flower. This means no brightly colored clothing, no perfumes, lotions, scented soaps, hair products, or other fragrant cosmetics.
-
Step 7
Don’t go barefoot outside, especially on clover-covered lawns and flowering fields.
-
Step 8
Do not swat at insects. Quick movements provoke bees, hornets, and wasps to sting. Just walk slowly away from the buzz.
-
Step 9
Don’t leave sweet food or sweet drinks uncovered or unattended outdoors. You could swallow a nasty surprise.
