Make Ghosts for Halloween
Make Ghosts for Halloween

Make some Halloween ghosts to hang in your trees. Using kitchen trash bags, it's easy and very inexpensive.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • kitchen trash bag
  • 2 applesauce cups
  • grocery bag
  • 1 paper clip
  • 1 wire-tie
  • hot glue
  • black marker
  1. Step 1

Start with white kitchen trash bags. The best kind don't have drawstrings; if they do, cut them off.

  2. Step 2

Poke two holes in one applesauce cup and run the glue the two cups together, top-to-top, to make a "head." Wrap the grocery bag anround the cups to make a ball. Turn the colored designs inside so they don't show, or cut the designs off.

  3. Step 3

Put the ball into the center bottom of the trash bag, poking the paper clip through to make a hanger. Tie it tightly around the "neck." Be sure to catch some grocery bag in it so the neck won't be too skinny.

  4. Step 4

Draw faces on both sides if you wish, so there won't be a "back" to your ghost. (Drawing a face on wrinkled plastic is probably the most difficult part of this craft!)

  5. Step 5

Bend the paper clip over and hang your ghost in a tree. Make several more to hang around your property on Halloween night.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you're a cheapskate like me, don't throw the bag away after Halloween. Use it to hold bottles for recycling - or save it to use year after year.

on 10/25/2009 Great article. I made ghost our of old white sheets which works good too. I think using trash bags is a great idea because they can take the damp and wetness of the season.
