Find the right dating site. There are quite a few of online dating sites out there. A few sites you may have heard about like Match.com or eharmony.com. You might want to think about a specialty online dating site that caters to a particular faith or lifestyle.

Write your profile. Number one rule: Always, always, always be honest about yourself. (Did I mention “Always”?) Be honest about what you believe, what your body shape is, what you are looking for in a partner, your likes and dislikes. Do you have a sense of humor? Show it! Never be ashamed of describing the real you.
One big reason for being honest is if you create a false impression on your profile and you end up getting a date, you will not meet up to their expectations. Guess what? BAM! Dating disaster! You will leave that situation feeling depressed and down about yourself. You certainly do not have to list out all of your flaws for cyber world to see, but be as honest as possible. -
Step 3
Add good pictures. A picture paints a thousand words…….Again, be honest. Provide an up to date picture. Do not….I repeat…do not post your high school swim team picture unless you are in high school and on the swim team. Take the time to create a nice picture of the real you. Dress nice. Have a friend help you with different angles and shots. Try different backgrounds and lighting settings.

Write honest content. Yes, as stated before it is good to be honest, and yes, if you are overweight or bald or both or whatever (fill in the flaw….), lots of men or women will take one look and pass on by. We are bombarded 24/7 in world that paints what perfection is…….what a body should look like…………what defines a beautiful woman………..what defines a handsome and successful man…………………Don’t buy into that! There are millions of superficial people out there that will run at the thought of 30 lbs. overweight or the lack of hair. You know what? Let them run.
The nice thing about online dating is that you do not even have to deal with those people. There are people out in the world who truly look at the inner soul. The person who responds to your profile will be responding to the real you. Will it take longer? Yes. Is it worth the wait? Absolutely! I know, I’ve been there, done that, and I am happily married to the woman of my dreams in all our imperfections.
