How to Make Watermelon Agua Fresca

Need an alternative to juices that are high in sugar or sodas that a full of high fructose corn syrup? Treat your children to a very popular fruity Mexican drink known as agua fresca. Your children will love it just as much as you. The best part is it's like soda (from the seltzer water) but without all that unhealthy corn syrup!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • watermelon, seedless
  • seltzer water
  • lime juice
  • honey
  • pitcher
  • blender
  1. Step 1

    Add 4 cups of seedless watermelon chunks (seedless and without rind), 1 tablespoon of freshly-squeezed lime juice and 1 cup of seltzer water to a blender.

  2. Step 2

    Whirl away until smooth.

  3. Step 3

    Strain it into a pitcher to remove un-blended pulp.

  4. Step 4

    Stir in 2 tablespoons of honey until nicely dissolved.

  5. Step 5

    Serve it up in clear glasses and you can even garnish with a few watermelon balls formed using a melon baller! This is the perfect drink to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with so remember to keep it in mind this upcoming May 5th!
