Holiday Candle Centerpieces are a quick and inexpensive way to dress up a table for any holiday occasion. This easy craft will add a great conversation piece for your next dinner party. The great thing is that this craft is not limited by a certain holiday. With a few quick changes you can have a holiday centerpiece that will look great all year long. Holiday candle centerpieces are also a great craft for a holiday party.

Start by gathering all your supplies for your holiday candle centerpiece. I like to use a quart sized glass canning jar; however any glass jar will work for this project. I also like to use candy that has a shiny wrapper on it this will give the candle light something to flicker off of and create a nice affect. Your candle should be long enough that is comes out of the top of the jar, using a candle that is shorter than the jar will cause the smoke to collect in the candle jar and form a residue on the glass.

  2. Step 2

After you have the items gathered for your holiday candle centerpiece you will need to place the candle in the center of the jar. I like to use another candle and drip some wax in the bottom of the glass jar. This gives you a place to "stick" your candle stick in the jar. Just hold your candle in the melted wax until it has hardened.

After the wax has hardened you can add the candies around the candle in the jar. I fill mine about halfway full, this will leave enough room so that the light will shine through nicely and also enough candy so that the candle is stable in the jar. Make sure you are careful not to move the candle when adding the candies for your holiday candle centerpiece.

  4. Step 4

After you have added the candies in the jar you can decorate the top of the jar with a ribbon bow. Make sure your ribbon will not be exposed to the flame from the candle. This holiday candle centerpiece looks great displayed in groups of three or in the center of a plate of candy.

Tips & Warnings
  • For Halloween try filling the jar with candy corns and using a black or orange candle.
  • For Thanksgiving I like to use the little pumpkin shaped candy corns with a brown candle.
  • For Christmas ribbon candies or red and green M&M's make a great holiday candle centerpiece with a white candle and holiday themed ribbon.
  • You can use conversations hearts and a pink candle for a Valentines Day holiday candle centerpiece.
  • Make sure little ones know not to get the candy out of the holiday candle centerpiece
  • Never leave an open flame unattended.
