Instructions

Peel the potatoes. Remove all of the potato skins. Rinse the potatoes under cold water. Dice the potatoes into small cubes.

    • 2

Peel the medium onion. Mince the onion into small pieces.

    • 3

Melt 1 tbsp. of butter in a frying pan. Cook the onions and potatoes until they start to brown. This will take around 15 minutes under high heat.

    • 4

Mix all of the ingredients. Place the diced potatoes, minced onions, cheddar cheese, egg, parsley, salt and pepper in a mixing bowl. Stir until the ingredients are well blended. This will be the pastie filling.

    • 5

Divide the puff pastry into four equal sections. Roll each puff pastry out until they are 6 inches in diameter.

    • 6

Place ¼ of the pastie filling in the middle of each pastry. Equally, divide all of the filling among the puff pastries.

    • 8

Press the fork along the edge of the pastry to crimp the edges of the pasties.

    • 9

Brush milk on the pasties. Place the cheese and onion pasties on a nonstick baking pan.

    • 10

Bake the pasties in the oven for 35 minutes at 400 degrees, or until the pasties are golden brown.
