Make a Paper Tombstone
-
1
Trace your preferred tombstone shape onto your gray paper with a pencil. You can make a cross, pentagon, rectangle, square or half an oval.
-
2
Cut your shape out of the gray paper.
-
-
3
Lay your pieces of poster board on top of each other, with the pencil patterned piece on top. This way you will cut both pieces at the same time, assuring that they match.
-
4
Glue the garden stakes to 1 poster board piece, leaving about 6 inches of the stakes hanging down from the bottom so that you'll be able to anchor your tombstone to the ground. Glue the other poster board paper to the stakes as well, so the stakes are in between the two even pieces of poster board paper.
-
5
Fill in the space. Fill the space between the poster boards with spackle.
-
6
Paint the spackle gray.
-
7
Paint the epitaph onto the tombstone. Use black paint to paint on a name and date to make the tombstone look more authentic. You can make up names, or you can paint names of famous people or humorous names like "Oopsy Croaked" and "Frank Lee Dedd".

Tips & Warnings
You can use cardboard instead of poster board to make a stronger tombstone.
A paper tombstone is best for sheltered or indoor areas because it can become waterlogged and ruined in the rain or snow.
