How to Replace a Power Window Motor in a Camaro
Chevrolet Camaros were manufactured with electric windows, which use a small motor to turn a window regulator crank and operate a pane of glass inside the door. This motor can wear out and require replacement, which should take the average backyard mechanic about 30 minutes.

1
Disconnect the battery from your Camaro by turning the positive terminal bolt in a counterclockwise direction. Set the terminal aside.

2
Remove the screw on the inside of the interior door handle by turning it counterclockwise.

-
3
Remove the arm-rest bolts by turning them in a counterclockwise direction.
-
4
Pull the door panel from the pop rivets firmly, starting at the corner and working your way around. The plastic pop rivets can deteriorate with age and may need to be replaced. Place the door panel aside, away from the work area.
-
5
Unplug the motor from the wiring harness by pulling the adapter plug apart.
-
6
Remove the motor by turning the mount bolts in a counterclockwise direction, then pulling the motor straight out. The gears in the back are meshed with the window regulator gears but will release when pulled directly away from the door.
-
7
Replace the motor by positioning it into the window regulator gears and securing the mount bolts in a clockwise direction. Reconnect the wiring harness by pressing the adapter plugs together.
-
8
Replace the door panel by pressing it firmly to the metal until the pop rivets engage. Turn the arm-rest bolts clockwise until they are snug. Turn the interior door handle screw clockwise until it is tight.

9
Reconnect the battery by turning the positive terminal bolt clockwise until it is tight.
