How to Unlock a Kitchenaid Quiet Superba Dishwasher

Save

Kitchenaid Quiet Superba dishwashers include a special control lock feature that renders the machine inoperable when buttons are pressed. The control lock prevents children from causing damage to the dishwasher by operating it incorrectly and, more importantly, prevents injury to children if they try to open or operate the machine. When enabled, the locking mechanism makes the buttons unresponsive. You must disable the control lock before running the Kitchenaid Quiet Superba dishwasher.

  • Touch any of the buttons on the dishwasher to see if there is any response. When the lock is enabled, touching the buttons will not start the machine. Enabling and disabling the lock is done with the same action, and you may inadvertently lock the machine if it is not already locked.

  • Press and hold the "Energy Saver Dry" button for approximately four seconds to disable the lock.

  • Check that the dishwasher is unlocked by touching any of the buttons to see if there is a response.

  • Lock the machine again by pressing and holding the "Energy Saver Dry" button for four seconds. The buttons will again be unresponsive.
