It can be extremely difficult to remove cartridge ink from blue jeans. Because toner ink from printers is meant to be permanent, there is little you can do once the ink has set into the fabric. However, before you throw out your favorite pair of jeans, you may want to try a few tips and tricks for removing cartridge ink stains from clothing.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Whole milk
  • Wet wipes or moist towelettes
  • White vinegar
  • Cornstarch
  • Old toothbrush
  1. Step 1

Wipe the stain with a moist towelette. If you act quickly, this can remove the ink before it sets in.

  2. Step 2

Soak the blue jeans in whole milk for 30 minutes. Remove jeans from milk.

  3. Step 3

Mix a paste composed of equal parts white vinegar and cornstarch. Work paste into stain with the toothbrush. Rinse and repeat until the ink is removed.

Tips & Warnings
  • Hair spray has also been known to remove some ink stains.
  • Avoid using hot or warm water on an ink stain. This will set the ink into the fabric.
