How to Set a Combination for Supra-C Lock Boxes

Whether it is to allow potential buyers to inspect a new home or just to make sure your own family never gets locked out, using a Supra-C Lock Box is a great way to make sure that a spare key is always available. What is not always great, however, is having to change the combination from the factory presets, or change the current combination to a new code. A few instructions can be helpful.

Things You'll Need

  • Phillips-head screwdriver
  • Check to see whether your Supra-C Lock Box has a metal back or a plastic back. If the back is metal, use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the screws from the back of the lock box. If the back is plastic, push down both tabs. Remove the back once the fasteners are taken off.

  • Locate the black release button inside the Supra-C Lock Box and push it all the way into the up position. Make sure the button clicks all the way up, or it will not be possible to continue.

  • Turn the dial on the front of the lock in any direction until the three metal rings and two metal spacers drop away from their current positions. This will clear the lock so that the combination can be reset.

  • Turn the dial until all three pointers are lined up again to begin setting the new combination.

  • Move the first metal ring to the first desired letter and then place the first metal spacer to the right of this ring.

  • Move the second metal ring to the second desired letter choice and then place the second metal spacer to the right of this ring.

  • Move the third ring to the third desired letter choice.

  • Replace the back piece and either replace the screws or pop the tabs back into place, depending on the type of back.

Tips & Warnings

  • It is suggested that you not use simple three-letter words or the initials of your name for the combination to your Supra-C Lock Box, as doing so will make it easier for others to gain unwanted access to the contents.
