Holding a fashion show is a popular method for dress shops, designers and malls to show off the current fashion trends and to attract crowds of people who will, hopefully, like what they see and make purchases. Flyers are an effective way to get the word out about your event and can be easily created.
How to Create Fashion Show Flyers
Create a new document in your design or word processing program (see "Tips"). Set the measurements for 8.5 by 11 inches. If you are creating a tri-fold flyer, set the page as landscape (11 by 8.5 inches).
Include all of the important information in your flyer such as the date and location. Add an overview of the agenda into your flyer. For example, include information on any special attractions, such as bands or special speakers, that might draw people to your event.
Add simple graphics to the flyer. Choose colorful art that speaks to the theme without overwhelming the flyer. Add colorful borders around the edges of your flyer to draw attention. Most word processing programs also allow users to insert banners and call outs.
Write an eye-catching headline for your flyer that will draw positive attention to the fashion show.
Add a raffle or drawing into your flyer. Also add a coupon to your flyer to encourage people looking for a bargain. Many word processing software programs have the ability to insert tables or text boxes into documents. Place the coupon on the bottom margin of the flyer to make it easier for people to detach it from the flyer to present at the store.
Insert information in your flyer about other businesses participating in the fashion show and have them send the finished flyer to their mailing lists. Include businesses that do not compete with you but cater to the same clientele. Allow them to have booths or tables at your fashion show and put their logo on your flyer. The addition of other vendors on your flyer adds interest to potential visitors and gives you another advertising opportunity.
