Egyptian cotton sheets are considered some of the most luxurious bed linens available, but unfortunately they have a tendency to collect hair just like any other type of bed sheet. Whether it is shedding hair or pet hair that is collecting on your bed, consider several easy and inexpensive ways to remove hair from Egyptian cotton sheets.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Clean cloth or sponge
  • Rubber or latex glove
  • Latex balloon
  • Hook and loop strip
  • Lint roller
  1. Step 1

Dampen a clean kitchen towel or new sponge, and rub the sheets lightly with it in a circular motion. The hairs should come off the sheets and onto the towel. Check the cloth or sponge every few wipes, and remove any hairs that have been collected.

  2. Step 2

Wipe the surface of the sheets after they have been pulled taught across the bed with a rubber or latex glove. For increased effectiveness, mist the palm of the glove lightly with water.

  3. Step 3

Inflate a latex balloon (the same kind you can get at party supply stores or dollar stores), and rub it across the hair. Static should pick up any hair that you have difficulty picking up with a glove or damp sponge.

  4. Step 4

Lightly rub a hook and loop strip, such as Velcro, across the surface of the sheets. This will help pick up hairs that are especially difficult to remove.

  5. Step 5

Push a lint roller across the surface of the sheets. This is effective when you have a few difficult, stray hairs. If it is pet hair you're trying to pick up, use a lint roller especially made to pick up pet hair.

  6. Step 6

Vacuum the hair from the bed using the slanted attachment of your vacuum cleaner. If your vacuum cleaner has a brush attachment, also try that. Ensure that the vacuum cleaner is on at least a medium-high setting and that the sheets are pulled taught.
