A scar will be present after removing the jewelry from a navel piercing and allowing the piercing to close. When a piercing is performed by a nonprofessional, the scar could be more raised and shiny than normal. A normal scar from a belly piercing will be roughly the size of a pin head and the skin will be a slightly lighter color than the rest of the skin in that area. These scars can be reduced for some piercings by applying Vitamin E oil to the area after massaging the scar.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  3. Step 3

Squeeze the Vitamin E capsule with one hand until a drop of oil is on the finger of the opposite hand.
