How to Cut Plastic Lumber
Plastic lumber is a popular choice for outdoor structures, such as fences, decks and pergolas. Plastic lumber doesn't rot; resists stains, mold and mildew; comes in different colors; and has the appearance of real wood. Cutting plastic lumber is almost exactly the same as cutting real wood, with a few minor exceptions. The average, do-it-yourselfer or amateur woodworker should have no trouble working with plastic lumber as long as the right tools for the job are used. Does this Spark an idea?

Cut the lumber with your saw as you would regular wood. If you are making a rip cut--one along the grain of the wood--you need to cut both sides of the lumber due to the finish applied to the edges of plastic lumber.
