How to Burn ISO to DVD & Shrink Size

An ISO file is the "image" of the files on a CD/DVD. These can be created many different ways. Once an ISO is created, you need to burn the ISO onto a blank DVD to use it. Sometimes the ISO file becomes too big to be placed on a single DVD, and it needs to be shrunk. ImgBurn is a program that has the ability to do all of these things at once.

Instructions

    • 1

Download and install ImgBurn. Open ImgBurn after installation completes.

    • 2

Insert a blank DVD into your computer's optical drive. Choose "Write Image File to Disc" when ImgBurn asks what you would like to do.

    • 3

Select your ISO file as your source file by selecting the small folder icon.

    • 4

Select your DVD drive as the destination for the ISO and click the green arrow which points toward a disc. The ISO will now burn to your DVD, shrinking the size automatically if needed to fit on the disc.
