Use your tape measure to check the height, width and depth of your TV. Measure the actual dimensions of the TV, not just the screen dimensions.

It is important to make sure the console will fit within the space you alloyed to it in your room and that the TV will fit into the console comfortable. Since flat TVs are relatively light, any console that they can fit into should have plenty of strength to hold it, but if you are housing an older box-shaped TV, be extra careful to get a console that can support its weight. The console should at least have enough spaces to house any DVD players, VCRs and other devices you know you will hook up immediately.
