Contact your local charitable organization to get information on the sign up dates. Be prepared to bring birth certificates and photo identification to the sign up event. If you are unfamiliar with the toy picking process, ask questions on how it is done. If you are worried about transportation to the organization, ask if they have alternative means to get you there to sign your children up for the program.

There are also churches and shelters that provide the gift giving event of Toys-For-Tots. Call around and ask the churches and shelters in your area if they are participating in the giving of gifts to needy families this year. You want to make sure you ask the correct questions. Be clear and precise as to what you are looking for.

If you are unable to locate a facility that is offering the gift giving this year, contact your local marine corp. They will be able to direct you in the direction you need to be in. They may even be able to take down the information needed and deliver the toys to your home this holiday season. Keep in mind that some organizations do not require you to provide the needed documentation for verification. They ask if your family is currently receiving TAFDC, or emergency assistance for needy families.

Use your search engine to find organization in neighboring towns. They may be able to assist you with your needs, if you are unable to find a local charitable organization in your area. Do your research early, begin your search in the months of October and November. Quantities are limited and availability may be slim this holiday season. Pass this information on to friends or family whom are also in need this holiday season. Give the gift of sharing.
