With the unemployment rate as high as it is, there is one thing that every American can do to not only create American jobs now, but also create jobs for the future. This will also help to build confidence in this economy so that it will thrive.
It’s one simple thing: Buy American.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

What is the biggest purchase most people make after their house? You got it: An automobile.
If you want jobs back in America, do not buy a new automobile that is not made by an American company. Do not buy a Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Mercedes, Jaguar, Lexus, or BMW.
Buy GMC, Pontiac, Chrysler, Cadillac, Dodge, Ford, Lincoln, or Mercury. These are American built vehicles made mostly in the USA. Why send your hard earned money to Japan or Germany? Why not feed American families with your next vehicle purchase? Why not put the money you are earning in America, back into America?

  2. Step 2

Buy American built parts when you fix or have your vehicle fixed. Insist on AC Delco for your GM vehicles. Insist on Motorcraft for your Ford. If you are unsure where the part is made, ask. Yes, American parts cost more and there is a reason that is plain and simple: It costs more to live in the United States; therefore the workers need to be paid more so the parts cost more.

  3. Step 3

Buy American built power tools, such as lawn mowers, leaf blowers, drills, power nailers, miter saws, and table saws.

  4. Step 4

Buy American built appliances such as stoves, refrigerators, microwaves, and dishwashers. If you don’t know where they are built. Ask the sales person or do research before you buy. Don’t even entertain the thought of buying an appliance made outside of the United States.

  5. Step 5

Buy American food, furniture, rugs, televisions, DVD players, and toys. The list can go on and on, but what it comes down to is this: Do you want to help your family, friends, and neighbors? Do you want to feed children and adults living in America? Do you want to keep your job? If you answered yes, then Buy American.

Tips & Warnings
  • I know from experience that this is very hard. My home is filled with foreign products and products that I don’t even know where they were made and never thought to find out. The next time you buy something, think about where it was made and if you have a choice, buy the product made in America.
