Step 1
UNDERSTAND WHY IT'S GREEN. Okay, for you to get it out of your hair, you must first understand how it got there. When you have blonde hair (most women color it to be blonde), it strips all the natural oils out of your hair. When that happens, the exposure to the harsh chemicals in pool water can and will leech onto your hair. It isn't really the chlorine that sticks to your hair strands, it's actually the metal particles in the pool. The chlorine is just the glue that helps it stick. So, now that you know this. You can use simple measures to prevent it like adding oil to your hair before dipping into the pool. Now that's said for next time, you need to learn how to get it out of your hair!

Step 2
HOME REMEDIES INCLUDE ACIDIC BASES. All home remedies include acidic liquids to help rid you of nasty chlorine green hair. There are several household items you can use with little to no costs. Using a simple mix of shampoo and baking soda might help but will not rid your hair of all chlorine as some people think.

Step 3
USE VINEGAR. This is a lovely and simple solution you can make at home. Mix up a cup of vinegar and 1/4th cup of water in a large bowl. Stir it up and let it sit for a few minutes. Get someone to dip small sections of your hair into the solution. (It will not harm your hair - just make it shiney.) Leave each section of strands in the solution for a few minutes. Use a towel to soak up the wettness and continue until you've gone through your whole head. Wait an hour, and see if you still have a green tint to your hair - if so - repeat the process again.
-
Step 4
USE A SPECIAL BLONDE SHAMPOO. There are many products out there that help rid blonde hair of extra toxins and chemicals and product build up. Paul Mitchell has many products, as well the Shimering Lights which comes in a purple bottle and is specialized to get out chemicals in blonde hair. Use the shampoo while your washing out the vinegar in your hair.

Step 5
BE PATIENT. Sometimes it takes awhile to get all the chlorine out of your hair and you shouldn't panic and think you need to bleach it out. Keep repeating this process for the next few days until it's completely out of your hair. Most of the time, it takes on the first try. Good luck and remember to protect your hair next time!
