Step 1
FlowersStart by looking for places for inexpensive flowers. You can find many places to purchase cheaper flowers to decorate the church. If you holding the wedding in summer consider growing your own flowers. If you are holding the wedding during other times of the year ask your neighbors to donate flowers to you as a wedding present. Consider using other organic material as well such as leaves and twigs.

Step 2
Find places to purchase inexpensive ribbons and bows. Look in dollar stores. Dollar stores often have many items that you can use at low prices. Think about the color scheme you are using. If you see many items in that color in the dollar store think about changing your color scheme to suit what you see.

Step 3
Stained glass decorationsShowcase the natural lines of the church. Many churches are already highly decorated with beautiful stained glass windows and lovely woodwork. Use very subtle decorations to show off the decorations in the church. Hold the wedding early in the morning to catch the light or later in the day as the sun hits to glass to use the place to best effect.

Step 4
Make your own decorations. If you have friends who are good at crafts ask them to help you decorate the church. Friends can donate their time and efforts. Someone may have old tulle you can use to form rossettes. Others may have items such as silk ribbons and bows you can use to hang from the ceilings of the church or from the sides of the pews. Use old fabric left over from your wedding dress as well if possible.
