How to Treat Skin Boils

Boils are usually caused by a bacterial infection in a sweat gland or hair follicle and tend to be difficult to treat. But often times, when there are multiple boils, they are caused by gastrointestinal bacteria entering the bloodsteam and causing the infections. Though there are other causes of boils, such as an improper diet that consists of lots of refined sugars.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Echinacea and Goldenseal: These herbs can be used in supplemental form to work from the inside to help to treat boils. They work by helping to kill the bacteria inside of the boils.

  2. Step 2

    Hot and Cold Compresses: For the first couple days you should apply a hot compress to the boils, but after that you should begin to switch between hot and cold compresses.

  3. Step 3

    Turmeric: Turmeric is an herb that works by reducing the inflammation. It also helps to prevent the boils from returning. It can either be used in a paste form applied to the boils, or you can take about 400 milligrams 2-3 times per day with meals.
