Yeah, you can buy those white fuzzy cottonball-looking webs at any store. Or you can make a really cool "classic" orb spider web from string, yarn, or even rope. That's the spiral wheel shape that really means "spider web."

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • One ball of string or skein of yarn - your choice of color.
  • masking tape
  1. Step 1

Measure the space you want to put it in. Say it's a window. Measure the length, width, and diagonal. Cut four-five pieces of string a few inches longer.

  2. Step 2

Lay these pieces out on a flat area, like a table. Knot them all together in the center. (If it's not the exact center, it's no big deal. Spiders aren't exactly neat.)

  3. Step 3

With the rest of the roll, start near the center and work your way around diagonally, knotting it to each piece of string as you reach it.

  4. Step 4

Work your way all the way around until you get to the end of on piece of string. Stop there, and cut the string.

  5. Step 5

Fasten the web into place. Masking tape works well. Make a spider, of course. Four pipe cleaners, two pom-poms and googlie eyes make a fine giant spider.

  6. Step 6

If you want to make a crazy-giant web, make it from rope and put it over your doorway so trick-or-treaters will have to walk under it!
