If it is your dog's birthday and you want to make him or her a birthday cake, it's important that you make a cake dogs can eat. Use this recipe to make your dog a special birthday treat. You can even invite a few of his canine companions to help him celebrate. Party hats are optional!

If your not into doggie birthday parties, you can make this cake into cup cakes and freeze the individual servings. This way you always have a handy treat available for your dog!

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 cup flour - white or whole wheat
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  1. Step 1

    Mix or sift the flour and baking soda together.

  2. Step 2

    Add the peanut butter, vegetable oil, vanilla, honey and egg and mix well. Once that is well blended add the carrots and mix them into the batter.

  3. Step 3

    Pour into a dog bone shaped cake pan, regular cake pans or cup cake pans and bake in a pre-heated 350 degree Fahrenheit oven for approximately 40-45 minutes.

  4. Step 4

    Frost with cream cheese, cottage cheese or peanut butter!

  5. Step 5

    Keep refrigerated, or freeze unused cake in single serving portions.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use food coloring to color cottage cheese or cream cheese!
