how to transplant your houseplant very easily

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • soil
  • rooting hormone
  • hand held shovel
  • pot
  • watering can
  • gloves ( optional)
  • the houseplant to be transplanted
  • old sheet or newspaper
  1. Step 1

    Gather all the necessary equipment and houseplant to be transplanted

  2. Step 2

    set up the area that you will be using, if indoors place down old newspaper or drop cloth or sheet to protect any surface that you will be using.

  3. Step 3

    Place pot onto table an with the shovel add soil to the pot at least fill the new pot halfway with the soil and add rooting hormone.

  4. Step 4

    Remove the houseplant from it's old pot and inspect the roots for any pests or diseases or damaged roots for these will need to be removed and or treated for anything that you suspect is wrong. If so please take care of doing that before placing your houseplant in it's new pot

  5. Step 5

    after you have removed and inspected the houseplant, gently place it into it's new pot and carefully place soil around it till you have covered up the exposed roots and make sure that you have at least covered all of them.

  6. Step 6

    Gently press down on your houseplant to make sure that you have got it securely in place.

  7. Step 7

    Give your house plant a good dose of water and if need be add more soil to cover any roots that have been exposed in the watering process.

  8. Step 8

    You are now done if your transplanted house plant meets your approval you are finished and your houseplant will thank you for its new home if its happy!

Tips & Warnings
  • always trim off any damaged roots from the houseplant because if not they could hinder any new growth
  • Always check the roots for pests and diseases and handle those before transplanting
  • do not over water after you have transplanted
  • no sudden temperature changes after transplanting
  • no sudden lighting changes
