Instructions

    • 1

Clean everything out from under the kitchen sink. Locate the shutoff valves and turn them off. If there are no shutoff valves, locate the water meter and turn the main valve off.

    • 2

Place a small cake pan or bowl underneath the water lines coming out of the wall under the kitchen sink. Place a wrench on the nut at the end of the existing water line and turn it counterclockwise to disconnect it.

    • 3

Follow the water lines up to the bottom of the kitchen faucet. Remove these connections with a wrench as you did at the shutoff valves, or water line connections.

    • 4

Clean the threads of the faucet and the shutoff valves with a damp cloth. Wrap the threads with water pipe thread sealer tape in a clockwise direction.

    • 5

Connect the new water lines to the kitchen faucet first. Then connect the water line to the shutoff valves or the water line connections that come out of the wall. Turn the water back on and check for leaks.

Tips & Warnings

  • Clean up any water remaining on the sink cabinet shelf to prevent water damage. Read the manufacturer's instructions concerning new water line installation for best results.

  • Do not leave tools unattended in the presence of children. Do not over-tighten the nuts on the new water lines, as this will damage the pipe threads and cause a leak.

Beware of the size of the pipe.I always try to take at least one with me to the store to avoid a return trip.Sometimes the hose connection nearest the sink will require a special wrench with a swivel head.Dont forget the teflon tape.
