Turn the mode dial on the camera to the still shot selection. The self-timer does not work when taking videos or in playback mode.

Press the down arrow button to enter self-timer mode. The self-timer icon will appear on the LCD screen.

Frame the shot with the viewfinder or the LCD screen.

Press the shutter button fully down to start the timer. The orange self-timer light on the front of the camera will start blinking and the camera will sound an alert. The picture will be taken after approximately 10 seconds.

You can cancel the self-timer mode by pressing the down the arrow button a second time.
