How to Install Car Window-Washer LED Lights

If you're looking to add a little flair to your vehicle, or to enhance existing neon lighting accents, you may be interested in LED washer nozzles. These little accessories can be just the face lift your vehicle needs, provided you know how to install them properly.

Things You'll Need

  • Needle-nose pliers
  • Flathead screwdriver
  • LED washer nozzles
  • Rubber gaskets
  • Wire stripper

Instructions

    • 1

      Remove any covers from the underside of your car's hood using needle-nose pliers and a flathead screwdriver.

      Disconnect the windshield-washer fluid lines from the existing washer nozzles by gently twisting the rubber tubing with the pliers.

      Remove the existing washer nozzles by pressing on the small plastic tabs with a flathead screwdriver.

      Place the rubber gasket beneath the LED washer nozzle and feed the wires through the hole.

      Add a spacer pad, locking washer and nut onto the bottom of the LED washer nozzle and tighten the nozzle firmly onto the hood.

      Plug the end of the rubber windshield-washer fluid tube onto the nipple on the bottom of the LED nozzle.

    • 7

      Strip the ends of the black and red wires with the wire-stripping tool and run the red wire to a 12-volt switch inside the vehicle and the black wire to a secure metal piece of the frame.

Tips & Warnings

  • The use of lighted washer nozzles while the car is in motion is illegal in most states.
