Instructions

    • 1

Use a clean damp cloth to brush away as much of the excess mold as possible. Brush the mold into the trashcan or do this outside to prevent mold spores from getting loose in your house and attaching to other things.

    • 2

Mix equal parts isopropyl alcohol and water in a spray bottle. Spray the mold with the solution until lightly saturated.

    • 3

Wipe the area with a clean cloth to work the solution into the leather and remove as much of the mold as you can.

    • 4

Allow the leather to dry in a cool, moisture-free place.

    • 5

Use a clean cloth to rub away any mold after the area is dry. Repeat the process as needed.

Tips & Warnings

  • Condition the jacket with a leather conditioner per the manufacturers' instructions once all of the mold is gone. If the molded area is too widespread and attempting to clean it yourself isn't working, contact a leather professional or a dry cleaner.

  • Wear protective gear such as gloves, glasses and a mask to protect yourself from mold.
