Instructions

  1. Planning the Sweet Fifteen or Quinceañera Party

    • 1

Set a budget for the party. Then, select the date for the event and write it down on your planner/notebook.

    • 2

Decide on the number of guests. Select the padrinos (godparents) as well as the attendants and get confirmations. Write this down in your notebook/planner.

    • 3

Call vendors to get quotes on flowers, photography, invitations and music. If the party will be held outside the home, look for possible locations.

    • 4

Pick the final party location plus the vendors. Make appointments to meet with them to discuss options. Write all the vendors' and contacts' phone numbers in the small address book and carry it with you at all times.

    • 5

Shop for a gown. Order the tiara, gloves and shoes. Select the attendants' dresses. Write all the choices down on the notebook/planner.

    • 6

Make final selections on the catered items and pay deposits, if required. Write down all final choices and prices on the notebook/planner. If not using your own transportation, book a limo service.

    • 7

If you choose to have male attendants as well, select and order their tuxedos.

    • 8

Mail out the invitations when they arrive. Make an RSVP list on your notebook/planner.

    • 9

Make a list of songs you want at the party and discuss music and party events, with the DJ or band. They will need to know when to play the waltzes or selected music, if you chose to have an 'attendants dance' before open dancing starts.

    • 10

Do the final gown fitting. Contact guests that haven't responded, update RSVP list. Meet with attendants and do any needed rehearsals. If you will have a big sit down dinner, create seating chart.

    • 11

A couple of days before the party contact all vendors to confirm everything. Prepare pay envelopes for all vendors. Pick up tuxedos for male attendants.

    • 12

On the big day, have plenty of time to get ready and have your attendants help you. Give pay envelopes to the person who will hand to vendors at the party. Be ready when limo arrives, if applicable, or to make your entrance into the party.

Tips & Warnings

  • If the padrinos are paying for the party they should be contacted with estimated costs and they may be involved in planning also. If the parents are paying then the planning can be shared with them.
