How to Beat "Virtual Villagers: The Lost Children"
"Virtual Villagers 2: The Lost Children" is the sequel to Last Day of Work's original hit game, "Virtual Villagers." "Virtual Villagers 2" is set on the lost island of Isola, a setting used in most LDW games that emphasizes mystery and adventure as players attempt to plumb its secrets. In "The Lost Children," players attempt to raise a new tribe from a small family. This fledgling tribe faces threats from wildlife, food shortages and ancient mysteries as it begins to gain a foothold on the island.
Instructions
-
-
1
Develop the skills of your children. Master farming, engineering and exploration first; then move on to medicine, science and culture.
-
2
Save your tech points until you are ready to develop the next level of a skill. Tech points accrue slowly and must be spent wisely for advancement.
-
-
3
Use farmers to speed up food collection. Your villagers consume a lot of food and this number increases as your tribe develops. Farmers should be undisturbed so that they can go about their work.
-
4
Watch your villagers closely to ensure that they are not idle. You can drag idle villagers around the island to locate "something to do" spots that will reveal benefits for your tribe.
-
5
Search for collectibles. These artifacts will increase your maximum tribe size, allowing you to eventually reach the peak tribe population and accomplish more as you complete the game.

Tips & Warnings
Use the in-game time settings to slow or advance time to your benefit. Use a slower time when you need to accomplish more, or speed it up when you are waiting for your villagers to complete a challenge.
Collectibles vanish quickly. Drop children near them as soon as they appear to grab them before they are lost again.
