How to Do Makeup for a Cat Costume
A cat costume is one of the easiest Halloween ensembles to put together: a black bodysuit, an attached tail and a little makeup are all you need to trick and treat. Cats are also one of the most authentic Halloween costume options since cats have been associated with Halloween since the Middle Ages, when people believed witches could transform themselves into cats in order to perform dark deeds.

1
Dab yellow greasepaint on each cheek and brush it out with your fingers, until you have a large yellow triangle on each cheek. They don't have to be exactly the same size, but one should not be dramatically bigger than the other.
-
2
Cover the rest of the face with white greasepaint, applying a little at a time with your fingers and smoothing it into place. Be extra careful when applying makeup around the eye area---you want to cover the lids and get as close to the eyes as you can without getting greasepaint in an eye. Gently blend the areas where the yellow and white greasepaint meet.

3
Brush the entire face lightly with powder. Use a second, clean brush to sweep off the excess powder.
-
4
Dab black greasepaint onto a makeup brush and outline the tip of the nose, making a C-shape that goes from the center of the nose down to each nostril. Fill in the circle with black greasepaint.
-
5
Apply black greasepaint to the lips, tracing their natural outline and then filling them in completely.
-
6
Draw a thin line of black greasepaint from beneath the nose down the center of the indentation between the nose and the upper lip. Stop at the center of the top lip.
-
7
Start at the edge of the lips where they meet and draw two lines in black greasepaint, using a brush, one curving up in an exaggerated smile and one curving down in an exaggerated frown, on each side. Try to keep the sides fairly even.
-
8
Use a brush to paint little dots of black greasepaint between the mouth and nose.
-
9
Use a brush with black greasepaint to draw a cat's eye shape---a long oval that rises to a dramatic point on its outer edge---around each eye.
-
10
Use your brush with black greasepaint to paint three lines to represent whiskers on each cheek.
-
11
Finish with another light dusting of powder, cleaning off the excess with a clean brush.
