Things You'll Need:
- Baking soda
- Warm water
- Nylon brush
- Towel
- Cloths
- Rubbing Alcohol
- Sponge
- Borax
- Toothbrush

Step 1
Make a paste by mixing one part warm water and one part baking soda.

Apply the paste to the linoleum by rubbing it on with a dry cloth.

Allow the paste to remain on the floor for about five minutes.

Scrub over the area with a nylon brush.

Wipe the area with a clean, damp cloth. Dry it with a clean, dry towel.

Pour some rubbing alcohol into a plastic bowl or container.

Dip into the alcohol with a cleaning sponge and rub the alcohol onto the linoleum with small circular movements until you cover the entire affected area.

Rub back over the area with a clean, dry towel to dry up the alcohol and remove any remaining hairspray residue.

Mix one tablespoon of borax into a pint of hot water.

Use a toothbrush to apply the borax mixture to the affected area of linoleum.

Scrub the area with the toothbrush by using small, circular brush strokes.

Wipe the area with a clean, damp cloth to clean off the borax solution.

Allow the area to air-dry, or you can dry it with a towel.
