How to Repair Broken Baby Cribs
A baby crib needs to be correctly assembled to ensure a secure environment for your baby. If there is a broken bar, slat or malfunction with lowering a sidebar on a crib, you may want to consider getting an entirely new crib. However, there are several places online where you can order replacement parts for various cribs, including new screws, bolts, crib legs, or an entire new crib side.

1
Assess the damage to the crib. Do not use tape or glue to repair any part of a crib. Structural damage to a crib will require an entirely new piece of that section to ensure the highest safety standard.
-
2
Order a new part to replace that piece of the crib. You can either order directly from the crib manufacturer or another replacement part site. See Resources.
-
-
3
Have your child sleep in another crib until the new part arrives and is installed. Having your child sleep in a damaged or broken crib can be very hazardous.
-
4
Remove the broken or damaged part from the crib by unscrewing it from the remaining frame parts. Throw out the damaged or broken part.
-
5
Attach the new part to the crib by screwing it directly into the same location as the previous part. The new part should fit snugly and securely without any gaps or breaks.

Tips & Warnings
Be honest in your assessment of the damage to the crib. Many cribs are considered completely unsafe if there has been any damage done to it, so the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recommends that the crib be completely replaced rather than repaired.
