First, you need broken electronics. You probably have some lying around your own home. Also, Yard Sales and Craigslist are great places to find inventory. Expect to pay anywhere from $5.00 to $100.00. Anything name brand and less than 2 years old are good bets on making income. Ipods, laptops and video game systems are sought after items by people who repair and part them out.

Next, you need to try to determine what the problem is with the item. Note if the unit will charge up and power on, if it will load a disc, if there is damage to the screen and any other dents or damages.

List item in a 7 day auction with a low starting bid to generate more interest. Take pictures of the top and bottom of the item, the serial number, and pictures of the screen (if applicable). Be scrupulously honest in your details but ALWAYS list the item as BROKEN AS-IS. Reiterate this 2 or 3 times so that the buyer will realize it is being sold for parts and repair.
