How to Create Ringtones for a Samsung Rant

Sprint's Samsung Rant requires a different method of uploading ringtones. The Rant requires ringtones made into .3g2 format. This is a video format that can be made through some of the free video making software available. Making nice video ringtones takes about five minutes, and is a great accessory to any phone.

    Instructions

      • 1

Open a video editor. Microsoft's Windows Movie Maker should do. Import any music files and video or pictures you want to put together for your ringtone.

      • 2

Edit your ringtone to about 20 seconds long, or under 513kb in size. Anything longer and the Samsung Rant software will reject it as a ringtone.

      • 3

Save to a format of .3g2, which should be available. If not, save the file and upload the file to an online converter, like Zamzar or Media Convert.

      • 4

Upload the file to your Samsung Rant's file folder, which should be "100SS", or similar. It usually says "100" somewhere in the name of the folder.

Use your phone to edit either all your incoming calls to use your new ringtone. You may also create ringtones for individual people.
