Step 1
First of all, if you are playing Mario kart wii, you need to select manual when given the option of manual or automatic.

Step 2
When cornering, you have to jump into the corner that you want to boost out of.

Step 3
After you jump, hold the jump button and move the joystick back and forth (left to right) to build up the boost. The faster you can build the boost the better.

Step 4
You’ll know that your boost is built up by the color coming off of you tires. Red is the most you can get. Some cars/bikes can get more of a boost than others.

Step 5
When the boost is built up, let go of the jump button to boost.

Step 6
Once you get really good at it, you can try to get multiple boosts in a single corner.
