How to Make Candy Insects And Gross Goodies To Serve At Your Halloween Party

If you’re trying to make a spooky Halloween party, here are a few gross goodies that your guests will love to eat. There are recipes for Spider Marshmallow Treats, Carrot Fingers with Oozing Ranch Dip, Caramel Apples with Worms, Worms in Dirt and Mud and Fried Worms. These are inexpensive, delicious treats that everyone will enjoy.

1. Make Spider Marshmallow Treats for Halloween
   
   Ingredients:
   Rice Krispies
   1 bag of marshmallows
   1 stick butter
   black food coloring
   black licorice strings broken into 3 inch strips
   
   
   1. Butter 3 large cookie sheets, and lay the licorice strings in rows of four. Make sure to leave about half of an inch between legs.
   2. Melt butter in a 5 quart pan.
   3. Add marshmallows to the pan and melt.
   4. Add enough black food coloring to color the marshmallows a dark black.
   5. Pour the Rice Krispies cereal into the marshmallow mixture, and blend together.
   6. Scoop out a large spoon of the cereal mixture and put it in the middle of one of the licorice legs. Make sure that part of the legs show on each side of the cereal body.
   7. Stick on 2 cinnamon red hots for eyes while the treats are still warm.
   8. Serve after they cool.

2. Make Carrot Fingers in Oozing Ranch Dip
   
   Ingredients:
   baby carrots
   cream cheese
   almond slices
   ranch dressing
   
   1. Pour ranch dressing into a shallow bowl.
   2. Add a dot of cream cheese to one end of the baby carrots.
   3. Press a slice of almond onto the carrots to make a fingernail.
   4. Sit the carrot into the shallow bowl of dressing, so that the fingernail is pointing up.
   5. Serve cold.

3. Carmel apples with Worms
   
   Ingredients:
   apples
   popsicle sticks or candy apple sticks
   2 bags carmel candy
   gummy worms
   Oreo cookies
   ¼ stick of butter or margarine
   
   1. Rinse apples, and push sticks into the apples.
   2. Grind Oreo cookies in a food processor or blender. Place ground cookies into a shallow bowl.
   3. Open package of gummy worms.
   4. Melt butter in a 2 quart pan.
   5. Add caramel to pan and melt. Stir constantly to avoid burning the caramel.
   6. Dip apple in caramel.
   7. Press the bottom of the apple into the ground Oreos, and press one gummy worm into the side of the caramel.
   8. Allow to cool, and put into a plastic baggy. Tie a twist tie to keep the apple fresh.

4. Worms in Dirt and Mud
   
   Ingredients:
   Oreo Cookies
   chocolate pudding
   gummy worms
   small cups
   
   1. Fill small cups half full of pudding.
   2. Grind Oreo cookies in food processor or blender.
   3. Sprinkle a thin layer across the pudding.
   4. Drop one worm into the pudding.
   5. Sprinkle more Oreo cookies on top.
   6. Serve cold.

5. Fried Worms
   
   Ingredients:
   hot dogs
   buns
   ketchup
   mustard
   chili
   oil
   
   1. Slice hot dogs into thin strips.
   2. Fry strips in hot oil. It will make the hot dog strips look like earthworms.
   3. Put several strips into each bun, and top with your favorite toppings.
   4. Serve hot.
