How to Take a City on Evony

As you earn titles in Evony, you also gain the ability to hold more cities. However, capturing a flat and starting a new city from scratch can be a tedious process. There is an alternative, though. It is often easier to simply take a city from a neighbor. While it may sound somewhat barbaric, it is common practice on Evony and can pay off big time.

Instructions

1. Upgrade your rally spot and feasting hall to at least Level 5. This will allow you to deploy five groups, with a hero, at a time.

2. Scout neighboring cities to find potential targets. Look for larger looking cities held by people you think you could easily attack. Before you scout you should check the lord's name in the statistics. You want to make sure that the person you are looking to attack has at least two cities. You cannot take a city if it is that lord's only one.

3. Decide on a target and send your first large attack. Send enough troops to take out your enemy's wall defenses. If the target's walls are well equipped, try sending wave after wave to beat them down slowly.

4. Continue to attack with fast troops like cavalry after the wall defenses are obliterated. Send small waves of 50 or so. Keep the attacks coming to knock down the loyalty quickly.

5. Be prepared to fight the troops. If you have already taken out the enemy's troops, this means the gates were open and you are nearly done. However, if you have yet to see any troops be sure to watch the war reports closely. When the town's loyalty hits 1%, the gates open and you will have to fight the remaining troops.

6. Wear the town's loyalty down to zero and be patient. It can take longer than anticipated. At this time you will take the city.

Tips & Warnings

• Look for cities with attributes you want. For instance, Level 10 town hall or walls may be desirable to some, while higher-level resource fields may appeal more to others.
