Being asked to deliver a best man speech is a great honor; however, writing good best man speeches can be a nerve wracking experience for some people. Follow the steps in this article to make sure that you write outstanding best man speeches.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Begin your best man speeches by introducing yourself. This is an important step that people often forget. Weddings can be large parties, so you should remember that it is likely that there will be some people in the room who don't know who you are or how you are related to the bride and groom.

  2. Step 2

Tell a funny story about the bride and groom. You don't have to have witnessed an event to tell a story about it. Maybe the bride and groom met in a unique way, maybe they have shared some unique experiences with each other, or maybe you have observed them interacting with each other in a special way; whichever story you decide to use, you should shape it so that it ends with you talking about why the story illustrates how good of a couple the bride and groom make.

  3. Step 3

End your speech by saying how confident you are that the bride and groom will share a beautiful, blessed marriage, and ask that everyone raise their glass in a toast to the new couple.

Tips & Warnings
  • Remember to speak slowly, loudly, and clearly enough so that everyone in the room can hear your speech.
  • Practice. Your speech will be so much easier to deliver if you have practiced it in a mirror several times before you take the microphone.
  • Be careful not to drink too much before giving your toast.
