Things You'll Need:
- A drive to save.
-
Step 1
The first step is to make a budget. This is an important step which shouldn't be under estimated. Until you know where your money goes, you don't know where you can save.
-
Step 2
Once everything is on paper, look for unnecessary expenses. These can include things like excessive eating out at restaurants, unnecessary purchases of clothing and electronics. Begin to identify them and consciously try and cut back on them.
-
Step 3
Begin to do other things around the house to save, including cutting the thermostat back in the winter and up in the summer. Use ceiling fans in the summer to feel cooler. They save on electricity compared to hvac units. Install blinds and curtains on the windows to save on heating and cooling as well.
-
Step 4
Remember, every little bit helps. Fifteen or twenty little things really start to add up and put money back into your wallet.
