Choose a "Type" for the 3-D screen saver. Click the circle next to "Picture Cubes" or "3D Text." The picture cubes allow you to add several images and change the design. With 3-D text, you can insert words and change the font as well as animation.

Select the drop-down arrow next to "Style." Click the green arrow to scroll through the different formats. Click on a style to preview in the top window. This acts the same with the picture cubes and 3-D text.

Change the 3-D screen saver options. Adjust the number of cubes, speed of movement and size of the blocks in the picture cube selection. The preview screen will change while you are altering the screen saver. Click the file folder under "Pictures" to add images. You can add six pictures for one screen saver. In the 3-D text option, insert wording and modify the quality. Some style options allow three lines of text, while others allow only two. Click the "Full Quality" circle.

Click the "Preview" button on the right side. Wait roughly 30 seconds for the program to create the 3-D screen saver. The screen saver will run at full screen.

Click the "3D Saver" bar. Select the "Add Pictures" tab. Search through the photos on your hard drive. Highlight the image, and click "Open." Repeat for multiple pictures.

Change the options under "3D Screensaver Settings." Click the "Change Camera" box. Adjust "Screen Resolution" to "Default System Mode." Choose a "Transition Speed." Click the drop-down arrow next to "Screensaver Scene." Select an option such as "Another Dimension" or "Scorching Sun." The Screensaver Scene changes the method in which the pictures are moving throughout the 3-D screen saver.

Click the "Preview/Test Designed Screensaver" button. Wait about 15 seconds for the design to complete. A full-screen display will appear.

Click the "Distribution/Screensaver Installation" bar. Insert your name and a screen saver title. Change the "Output Folder" by clicking the "..." tab. Select a directory, and then click "OK." Click "Create." Click "OK" to install the screen saver on your computer.

You must buy Xara ScreenMaker 3D before you can save the design. However, you can click "Preview" and the screen saver will run.
