How to Trim a Mirror With Ceramic Tile

Things You'll Need
- Painter's tape
- Protective cloth
- Tiles
- Adhesive
- Grout
- Grout float
- Sponge
- Cloth
- Water

Place protective cloth over the area where you will be working and lay the mirror flat on the surface, facing upward.

Measure the tile and, starting from the edge of the mirror, measure the width of the tile. Mark the line where the edge of the tile will be with painter's tape.

Lay newspaper over the center of the mirror up to the edge of the first layer of painter's tape and secure with additional tape.

Lay out the tiles in the order that you will apply them next to the frame.

Apply adhesive, such as a craft glue suitable for metal, directly onto the frame. Begin at the top and work in small sections. Begin placing tiles onto the adhesive, pressing each one down for a few seconds. Leave 1/4 inch between the tiles for grout.

Apply the grout with a float. Wait 20 minutes before wiping away any grout on the tiles with a sponge and soapy water. Wipe tile clean with a cloth rinsed in clean water.

Allow to dry for at least 24 hours before removing tape.

Tips & Warnings
If the tiles do not fit perfectly when you reach the edge of the frame, use a tile cutter to cut the tile to the appropriate size.
