1
Research. Research. Research. The more you know about your keynote speaker the more great things you are going to have to publicize about her. Learn what great things the person has done in the field and what her experience is. The best way to do this research is to talk to the person, but if your contact with her is limited, research companies she has worked for and her publications.

Develop your strategy. Your promotions will be much more organized if you make a plan ahead of time. Plan a list of media outlets, including blogs and social networking and write your press releases and get any artwork done.

Tips & Warnings
Get creative when getting the information out. People and media outlets are more likely to pay attention if you frame your information in creative ways. If pitching to any media, you have to show them why the information is relevant and newsworthy. Brainstorm with other people and read trade publications to get additional ideas on where to place promotions.
